This tour allows you to get in touch with the Amazon Rainforest. If you want to explore nature and feel a real adventure, this is special for you. Especially for groups and families, this tour is perfect. In a traditional private boat they take you down the Javari River and a family welcomes you. With your tour guide and together with a local guide, you will get a complete Amazon experience due to the various activities that this place has to offer. Camping in the jungle or on the beach, spotting dolphins during the day, caimans at night, fishing for piranhas in the middle of the Amazon jungle make this tour an unforgettable experience. Zacambu is located four hours from Leticia. The activities change by season. Families live there, dedicated for 15 years to receive tourists from all over the world. They adapted their houses in a simple and adequate way, beds with mosquito nets, a common area to relax, modest bathrooms, and a simple but clean kitchen.

During your stay in Zacambu, you can to do diferents activities. Day hikes offer the possibility to learn from local guides about the different plant species. There are various edible wild fruits, many plants and trees that are used in construction, and an astonishing number of medicinal plants, which are still used by the different tribes of the Amazon. If you are lucky you will see all kinds of animals such as monkeys, sloths, numerous species of birds, insects and spiders. At night, you go hiking, but this time trying to find animals only with the reflection of their eyes. When you see a small red or white dot, you may find an  caiman resting by the river, a group of active nocturnal monkeys, or a large tarantula waiting to hunt its prey. Experiences, like seeing a group of monkeys living in freedom jumping above your head from branch to branch, seeing a family of amazing pink dolphins passing by the boat or even catching a small caiman to identify its sex, not only you provide the opportunity to take a great photo. Those moments give you goose bumps and an image in your mind that you will never forget.

You will enjoy the typical food of the area, obviously, if necessary, we can adapt the food your special needs, if it is said before of begin the tour. Fishing is a fundamental activity of the local population, where you as a tourist have a direct connection with local life and habits. You will Fishing with a simple fishing rod, assisted by your guide to make this activity not only interesting and exciting but also safe. In addition, you can end with a delicious tasting of local fish such as piranhas or another fish. Swimming in the river and even walking on the beaches in summer allows you to feel closer to the majestic and mystical Amazon River. Besides  experiencing the excitement and a bit of fear when hiking in the dark night, you can camp in the jungle, if you are adventurous enough. In the middle of the jungle, you build your camp and then maybe go out to catch caimans or take a night hike in the forest. Looking for and finding the black or white caiman is one of the exciting parts of the tour. Going out at night in a small boat, knowing that around you are those powerful animals probably looking at you and there could be one nearby, under the water, next to the boat creating a feeling of fear and insecurity.

Please try to back light, everything you do not need we can safely store in the La Jangada.

  • comfortable cloth for the village bathing cloth

  • a rain coat or a second set of cloth to change them in case of rainfall
